Fire up the Fox! is a project whose purpose is to increase Firefox rentention.
A lot of effort is being put into getting people to download Firefox and give it a try, but once someone has downloaded Firefox how do we increase the probability that they will keep using Firefox? In marketing terms: how do we increase Firefox retention? One approach is to get them hooked of some of Firefox's features such as add-ons. Some users will find out all the these features and add-ons by themselves, but others may not or may simply not be aware of what's available. To remedy this we must promote the use of Firefox features to existing Firefox users, that is the goal of the Fire up the Fox project. The features we try to promote include extensions, themes, search engines, where to get help and how to help promote Firefox.
Recently we moved the site to it's own domain name and we are busy developing new features. There is the option to put a button or banner on your blog or site and get Spread Firefox points if someone downloads Firefox or Thunderbird from the site or if someone signs up to SpreadFirefox from the site.
We welcome any comments and suggestions.
