ReactOS http://www.reactos.org is an Open Source clone of the famous Microsoft Windows operating system.

ReactOS is still in development and currently can only run a handful of small Win32 applications, but it is slowly improving all the time.

It shares much of its high level, "user mode" components with Wine http://www.winehq.org/ (A Win32 translation layer for Linux), but is has its own kernel that mirrors much of the internal workings for the MS Windows kernel. This provides better potential compatibility than Wine and can even be used with MS Windows device drivers.
